de sabana de la Escuela de Ingeniería Agronómica de la Universidad de Oriente, ubicada en la localidad de Jusepín, Municipio Maturín del estado Monagas, combinando tres distancias de siembra entre hileras (0,70;  0,80 y 0,90 m) y tres distancia de siembra entre plantas (0,20; 0,25 y 0,30 m) bajo un diseño estadístico de bloques al azar en arreglo factorial con tres repeticiones. Las parcelas estuvieron constituidas por 4 hileras de 10 metros de largo, cosechándose las dos hileras centrales. Las diferencias entre los promedios se obtuvieron mediante la Prueba de Ámbitos Múltiples de Duncan al 5% de probabilidad. La sincronización entre floraciones fue afectada por la distancia de siembra entre hileras, obteniéndose los mayores valores para las distancias de 0,70 m y 0,80 m. La mayor prolificidad efectiva se presentó con 0,30 m entre plantas con 1,05 mazorcas/planta. El mayor número de mazorcas/hectárea (64.380) se obtuvo con la mayor densidad de siembra (0,70 X 0,20 m). Se observó ataque de plagas durante todo el ciclo del cultivo, especialmente bachacos (Atta sexdens L.), saltamontes (Melanoplas sp.) gusano cogollero (Spodoptera frugiperda) y gusano de la mazorca (Heliothis zea). En general se observó una buena adaptación de la variedad CENIAP-DULCE a las condiciones edafoclimáticas de sabana.

ABSTRACT

Different types of corn exist among corn cultivation in which constitution, use, and handling are determined by the characteristics of each type. The sweet or sugary corn constitutes an important energy source due to its high sugar content, which concentrates on the grain endosperm and it is used around the world in the industry as frozen or fresh greenness. In Venezuela, sweet corn is mainly consumed as can products and demand is covered with finished or raw matter imported products, for this reason, it is necessary to evaluate genotypes under different environmental conditions and crop production systems which can be used as an alternative for the corn farmers in different areas of the country. In order to determine the agronomic behavior of CENIAP-DULCE variety, an experiment was carried out at the Experimental Station of Savanna of Escuela de IngenieríaAgronómica of the Universidad de Oriente, located at Jusepín, MunicipioMaturín, Monagas State, combining three sowing distances between rows (0.7; 0.80 and 0.90 m) and three sowing distance between plants (0.20; 0.25 and 0.30 m). A two-factor experiment in a randomized complete block design was used with three replications. The plots were constituted by four 10-m long rows, only the two central rows were harvested.
